FutureImage Inc. Teams with Webshots to Create Citizens Climate Network

Leading photo-sharing Web site will serve as a repository for user-supplied digital video and still images illustrating climate change.

San Mateo, CA USA (1 May 2007) –FutureImage Inc., a leading digital image consultancy and operators of the 6Sight® Future of Imaging Conference, today announced it is teaming with Webshots, a leading photo and video sharing site and a property of CNET Networks, to launch a web site that will allow people worldwide to upload still and video images from their digital cameras and camera phones that highlight local effects of global warming and environmental problems. The website, called the Citizens Climate Network (CCN), will be a rapidly-growing, visual body of evidence that global warming is a phenomenon with grave consequences, necessitating worldwide attention and action.

CCN will provide a showcase and a structure to present the visual contributions of a global network of grassroots journalists, visually documenting evidence of the effects of climate change and environmental issues in their communities, and local initiatives to mitigate them” said Alexis Gerard, President of Future Image and CCN’s founder and chairman. “If CCN had been in place when hurricane Katrina hit, the tens of millions of people who viewed amateur images of the storm on Webshots, to cite just one example, could have been educated and mobilized rather than just shocked.”

“Webshots’ active community is a perfect platform for the successful deployment of CCN and we’re pleased to be able to provide the technical infrastructure for the web site,” said Amy McDonough, director of audience and content development for Webshots.  “This effort is a perfect example of people joining forces and leveraging technology to help spur global awareness and changes.”

CCN was officially announced in October 2006 by its president, David Szetela, at the 6Sight® Future of Imaging conference in Monterey, California as part of the 6Sight Initiative Framework, a program feature which offers participating companies the opportunity to enable initiatives that demonstrate the positive impact of leading-edge imaging technologies.  The CCN site, a subsection of Webshots, is due to “go live” with user-supplied content, on 7/7/07, in conjunction with the Live Earth activities.

About the 6Sight Future of Imaging Conference

6Sight (www.6Sight.com) is a two-day executive event focused on the explosive global spread of imaging technology, and its potential for exciting new opportunities to improve people’s lives in the personal, work, and community spheres. The annual event brings together technologists, marketers, futurists, artists, educators, customers and members of the media for a program emphasizing innovative use cases, breakthrough technologies, and creativity. The 07 edition of the 6Sight conference is scheduled for October 17 and 18, at the Monterey Conference Center in Monterey, Calif.

What Attendees Say:

WOW, what a great conference!! Excellent content, excellent speakers, excellent facilities and excellent food. And did I mention I made some super contacts too.

Brent Bowyer, President, Independent Photo Imagers

You have managed to assemble a very high calibre set of attendees and we had ample time to network, which was fantastic.

Simon East, CEO, ShoZu

I came here to learn about the market and to evaluate the opportunity for Bellamax. The Summit exceeded my expectations.

Val Carpenter, CMO, Bellamax

We found the show to be informative and insightful in terms of content and extremely valuable in terms of connections and networking opportunities. Our only regret was that we were not able to attend the sessions on Friday and to continue meeting with other attendees.

Kris Ramanathan, Co-CEO, netomat, Inc.

Congrats to you and your team for providing a really awesome event. Your planning, gracious accommodations and flawless execution was appreciated! In addition we achieved all the goals (and then some) that we set out from Sprint's perspective. Thank you for making the venue intimate and allow us real time to discuss and network as we needed.

Mary-Nick Baustert, Sprint

The Summit provided a comfortable environment in which to network with leaders in the industry, and an open atmosphere to exchange information.

Larry Lesley, Sr. VP, Consumer Imaging & Printing, Hewlett-Packard

Thank you for a very good show on all aspects. I met with very high quality and very relevant people, and you've managed to keep a casual and productive spirit among everybody, which is invaluable. Please count us in for the next edition.

Benoit Bergeret CEO, RealEyes3D
